I’ve lived in this country for 20 years and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so terrifying on the news than the death of Jo Cox. The callousness of the attack is nothing I’ve ever seen and I’ve lived through a number of horrible events in UK history; but this is by far the most terrifying. That a woman can be shot for doing her job. That intolerance can manifest so wildly across the country resulting in violence against representatives for local communities and the country. That any one of us who dares to speak out against intolerance and violence can be dead.

It’s just terrifying to be political right now.

RIP to Jo and love and prayers to Brendan and her two children.
